It was fashions biggest night out and we were on the edge of our seats waiting to see what wonderful and daring creations the celebs chose to walk the red carpet in this year…and rest assured we were not disappointed!
With the theme, China Through The Looking Glass we expected to see a lot of red, a lot of lace and a lot of jewels, all combined to create a scandalous yet fascinating look.
Now, we know the Met Gala is a place to rock the boat a little in terms of fashion but first, here are some of our favorite classic looks…
Rosie Huntington-Whitely, in Versace
This skin tight Verscace gown is the perfect mix of naughty and nice and the same can be said for her after party dress.
Amal Clooney, in John Galliano for Maison Margiela
Amal Clooney looked beautiful in this red tier red gown…and also looked very mucuh like the red emoji dancing lady!
Kate Hudson, in Michael Kors
Kate Hudson looked stunning as per usual in this sparkly gold Michael Kors gown.
Miranda Kerr in Louis Vuitton
We love this modern take on the LBD!
And here are some of our favorite looks from those celebs who like to make a statement…
Karolina Kurkova, in Tommy Hilfiger
We love this Chinese infused Tommy Hilfiger creation!
Gerogia May Jagger, in Gucci
The British model looked phenomenal in this plunging embroided oriental gown.
Kim Kardashian, in Roberto Cavalli
White and sheer is not an easy look to pull off, but we have to give it to you Kim…you nailed it!
Rihanna in Guo Pei
Ri Ri simply stole the show in this incredible gown, who else could pull off this look!?
Kendall Jenner, in Calvin Klein
Jaws hit the floor when Kendall Jenner walked out in this sparkling green gown.
Miley Cyrus, in Alexander Wang
MIley still managed to show some skin in this gorgeous Alexander Wang floor length gown.
And finally, those looks where all we can say is, “What were you thinking?”
Beyonce, in Givenchy
B and Jay were once again the last to arrive. Jay stood back while B struck a pose in an outfit that left very little to the imagination.
Jennifer Lopez, in Versace
We love the incorporation of the Chinese dragon, but this figure hugging dress also left very little to the imagination!
Sarah Jessica Parker, in Phillip Treacy and H&M
Her Asian inspired gown was overlooked due to her overwhelming headpiece that looks like she was competing in the Hunger Games.
Solange Knowles, in Giles
Solange was almost unrecognizable as she peered from behind that bold printed Giles mini-dress.
Madonna, in Moschino
Now, although this is fairly tame for Madonna, the name of her new album Rebel Heart was printed on the bottom. It seems like more of an unnecesssary promotional tool rather than a Chinese inspired gown to us.
So, as expected we saw some classic gowns, some statement outfits and some simply crazy looks! And the Met Gala continues to be one of our favorite fashion events of the year…untill next year NYC!
