Women in Suits

What better way to stand out in a sea of elegant gowns and colorful frocks than to show up in a plain ‘ol pantsuit? We know “boring” and “masculine” come to mind, but red carpets are now seeing more of this business-casual look than the floor-length couture we’ve always expected. Women are borrowing from the boys and making it their own. With bold colors and silhouettes, this look has become chic and stylish. Here, we’ve gathered a few of our favorites for this becoming trend. Take a look!

When in doubt, opt for black! Plain and simple, but SO elegantly classy. We love how these three ladies styled their looks. You can go for a dress-suit combo like Emma Stone, or rock the full two-piece pantsuit like Julia Roberts and Emma Watson. Pair your look with black stilettos, and bold lips to contrast with the solid black or keep your look toned with a nude color.

If you really want to make a statement, pull off a bold, solid color! We think these three rocked it with the primary colors. If you’re looking to feminize this tomboy style, plunging necklines definitely do the job. You can accessorize with a long-line necklace like Jennifer Aniston or go bare like Blake Lively. Or you may want a more conventional look– in that case, a solid tank underneath your blazer works too (like Rosie Huntington-Whitely).

Remember ladies– be adventurous with your style! Don’t be afraid to try something different. You can always add flair to so-called masculine looks with a personal touch.  Share with us your opinion on this trend by commenting below!
